Cardano (ADA) traded mostly sideways on Thursday, although the token remained just over 9% higher over the past week as optimism around its growing ecosystem continued to build.
The improving momentum could be linked to optimism surrounding President Trump’s broader positive stance on crypto following his meeting with industry leaders on Wednesday.
That strength has also drawn attention from analyst Cheeky Crypto, who has outlined a bullish outlook for ADA and discussed the potential for the asset to deliver an 8X increase in value.
“I think we’ve got some real positive moves to happen in the crypto space,” Cheeky Crypto said while discussing Cardano’s outlook.
Notably, such a move would represent an increase of roughly 800% from current levels, although the projection remains highly speculative and depends on Cardano successfully executing its development roadmap.
According to the pundit, Cardano is entering an important period as several ecosystem initiatives move closer to broader implementation. The analyst argued that the blockchain’s technological foundation could become increasingly relevant as competition among major Layer-1 networks intensifies.
However, execution could matter as much as technology. Cheeky Crypto highlighted concerns surrounding Cardano’s governance process, particularly the upcoming expiration of four Constitutional Committee seats. If replacements are not approved, the committee could fall below its required minimum and potentially restrict some governance actions.
The analyst stressed that avoiding delays will be crucial if Cardano wants to maintain momentum and turn its technical progress into wider adoption.
Meanwhile, one area attracting attention is Cardano’s push into Bitcoin-linked decentralized finance. Cheeky Crypto pointed to the growing competition to attract Bitcoin liquidity into DeFi, with Cardano and Sui emerging as notable contenders.
The opportunity is significant because Bitcoin represents a massive pool of capital that has historically had limited access to native yield opportunities. Bringing Bitcoin liquidity into decentralized applications could expand the addressable market for networks that can provide secure, efficient financial infrastructure.
Moreover, Cardano’s emphasis on decentralization could give it an advantage if institutional investors increasingly demand blockchain-based products with stronger infrastructure and governance.
That said, the analyst’s broader argument is that Cardano’s technological foundation may eventually become a major advantage, but execution will determine whether that advantage translates into adoption.
He pointed to competition from Ethereum, Solana and newer networks, noting that Cardano now needs to make its technology easier for developers to use while continuing to advance projects across its ecosystem.
“The question is, who can move the fastest now?” he said.
At press time, ADA was trading at $0.2107, up 14.87% in the past 24 hours.
