    Fix Hybrid Topology Option Not Available in Hybrid Configuration Wizard

    You are running the Hybrid Configuration Wizard, and everything seems okay. Until you get to the Hybrid Topology section in the wizard. There are no options to choose between Exchange Classic and Modern Hybrid Topology. Why is this happening?     Why is this happening, and what is the solution to this problem?

    Fix Hybrid Topology option not available in HCW

    To fix the Hybrid Topology option not available in the Hybrid Configuration Wizard, follow the steps below:

    1. Run the Hybrid Configuration Wizard.
    2. Go to the Hybrid Topology section in the wizard.
    3. Press F12 to bring up the Diagnostic Tools.
    4. Select Open Log File.

    1. Check the logs and identify the problem. In this case, a previous Migration Endpoint was found in Exchange Online with a standard on-premises configuration.

    Note: You can Create Migration Endpoint in Microsoft 365. This is also why you can’t select a Hybrid Topology from the Hybrid Configuration Wizard.

    1. Sign in to Microsoft 365 Exchange admin center.
    2. Click Migration > Endpoints.

    1. Select the migration endpoint
    2. Click Delete

    1. Rerun the Hybrid Configuration Wizard.
    2. Go to the Hybrid Topology section in the wizard
    3. You will see the Hybrid Topology options to choose from.

    Good to know is that you can always switch between the Exchange Classic Hybrid Topology and the Exchange Modern Hybrid Topology:

    • Switch from Exchange Modern Hybrid to Exchange Classic Hybrid
    • Switch from Exchange Classic Hybrid to Exchange Modern Hybrid
