This update means more than seven million people can now hold, send, and spend USDC on the Algorand network and pay at over 80 million merchants around the world that accept Visa.
A New Way to Spend Digital Dollars
The addition of Algorand-native USDC inside the Wirex wallet gives users a simple way to use a blockchain asset without needing to learn complex steps. People can buy or move USDC in the app and spend it through their Visa Card. The payment experience at stores or online remains the same for merchants, but behind the scenes the user is spending a digital dollar on the Algorand network.

In November, Circle minted approximately $8 billion USDC on the Solana network. This reflects continued demand for the stablecoin across fast and low-cost blockchains. This issuance brings the total cumulative USDC minted on Solana in 2025 to $36.25 billion. This highlights both Solana’s growing role in the stablecoin ecosystem.
