Gen X was sold a simple story: work hard, be responsible, save what you can… and one day you retire into some kind of “heaven” where everything is finally easy.
At 49, looking around Europe, that story doesn’t match reality anymore.
Pensions are shrinking, prices are exploding, and most of us are still trying to repair the damage from at least one economic crisis. In my case, I chose my own path early: music instead of a “normal” career, building a professional DJ life while everyone kept asking, “Okay, but what’s your real job?”
Now life has pushed me back to Italy to support my family, and I’m riding 1,200 km from Hamburg on an old BMW GS. This isn’t just a moto vlog. It’s about Gen X burnout, the retirement lie, and what it means to build your way out of the rat race without pretending the risk isn’t real.
