We’ve been selected as an official launch partner for X Cashtags in the US. Starting today, when someone on X taps a supported ticker, they can hit “Trade” and go straight to us to complete the trade.
Cashtags turn ticker symbols for stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies into interactive destinations, giving X users real-time access to market conversation and financial information. Now, X Cashtag partners give users a seamless path from discovering a ticker and following the conversation on X to taking action with a brokerage.
Here’s how it works:
- Find an asset: You see a post about a token and tap the cashtag.
- Explore on X: X shows you the posts and the price chart.
- Choose Kraken: Tap through to Kraken’s mobile app or web experience, and log in to an existing account or sign up for a new one.
- Make a trade: Complete the transaction directly on Kraken.
Nothing gets copy-pasted between apps, and you keep your place in the thread you were reading.
Why closing this gap matters
“People are already interested in crypto. The problem is how many steps it takes to go from hearing about an asset to owning it,” said Kamo Asatryan, Chief Data Officer of Payward and Global Head of Consumer at Kraken. “Too many people give up along the way. With Cashtags on X, we’re making it possible to go from interest to ownership in just a few clicks.”
Today marks the official US launch of X Cashtag partners, and X hand-selected the platforms taking part. Kraken being one of them puts us in front of one of the largest financial conversations on the internet, at the exact moment someone decides they want exposure to an asset.
It also puts our asset list to work. We’ll support cashtags across nearly 2,500 assets, spanning both our centralized exchange and our decentralized exchange offering. That breadth and access is the key point. The asset you’re reading about is the asset you can act on.
Where this goes next
Our job is to give people access to the whole market and to meet them where they already are. Some of that is product: the trading engine, the asset list, the fee structure. Some of it is reach: making Kraken discoverable inside the apps people already use every day rather than asking them to come find us.
The X Cashtag partnership is the clearest example yet of the second kind, taking the depth we’ve built on the exchange and putting it one tap away from the timeline.
