    Key Highlights

    • Nvidia stock surged approximately 7% in early trading following Q2 earnings that exceeded expectations and robust Q3 revenue guidance
    • Salesforce shares rallied 13% after delivering strong Q2 results and unveiling a strategic collaboration with Anthropic
    • CrowdStrike gained roughly 10% on impressive Q2 performance and upgraded full-year revenue projections
    • Okta stock skyrocketed 21% following exceptional Q2 earnings and an improved fiscal 2027 revenue forecast
    • HP shares tumbled nearly 9% despite raising guidance, weighed down by declining unit volumes and increasing memory component prices

A surge in technology sector earnings dominated Thursday’s trading session, with Nvidia spearheading a rally that pushed stock futures into positive territory during premarket hours. Multiple artificial intelligence-focused enterprises delivered quarterly results that surpassed analyst projections, though some companies failed to meet expectations.

Nvidia unveiled Q2 revenue figures showing an impressive year-over-year increase of approximately 106%. The company’s data center segment generated $89 billion in revenue, exceeding Wall Street’s $85 billion projection. Management provided Q3 revenue guidance of $108 billion, surpassing the consensus estimate of $104.86 billion. CEO Jensen Huang highlighted robust AI infrastructure demand and confirmed that production of the upcoming Vera Rubin platform is scaling rapidly.

Salesforce and Okta Deliver Outstanding Performance

Salesforce shares skyrocketed 13% following the announcement of 11% year-over-year Q2 revenue expansion. The enterprise software leader revealed that its artificial intelligence and data product suite is now generating close to $4 billion in annual recurring revenue. The company increased its full-year profit forecast and disclosed an enhanced strategic alliance with Anthropic.

Okta emerged as one of Thursday’s top performers, with shares climbing 21%. The identity management specialist reported adjusted earnings of $1.05 per share, exceeding analyst estimates by $0.09. Year-over-year revenue increased 11% to reach $805 million. Management upgraded its fiscal 2027 revenue projection to a range of $3.22 billion to $3.23 billion.

CrowdStrike advanced approximately 10% after disclosing that Q2 annual recurring revenue expanded 25% to $5.84 billion. The cybersecurity provider elevated its full-year revenue guidance to between $5.99 billion and $6.01 billion. CEO George Kurtz characterized the quarter as the strongest in the company’s operational history.

HP Among Decliners Despite Positive Guidance Adjustment

HP shares declined nearly 9% despite the company increasing its full-year profit outlook. Market participants concentrated on disappointing unit shipments in the printing business and growing anxiety regarding elevated memory chip expenses. The Personal Systems division posted 18% revenue growth, while printing revenue decreased 2.2% on a constant-currency basis.

Dollar Tree retreated 4.3% as its forward-looking guidance underwhelmed investors, despite Q2 earnings receiving a boost from tariff-related refunds.

Wendy’s plunged 13% following news that Trian Fund Management has abandoned plans to pursue a privatization transaction for the restaurant company. The investment firm expressed apprehension about the stock’s recent trading performance and current market valuation.

The majority of Magnificent Seven constituents experienced declines as capital flowed into semiconductor and memory storage companies. Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta all traded lower in premarket activity.

Additional AI-related equities such as Marvell, Coherent, Lumentum, Corning, Sandisk, Seagate, and Western Digital all posted gains in response to Nvidia’s quarterly announcement.

Market participants were also anticipating a planned address from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh scheduled for later in the trading session.
